Thanksgiving Celebration

Fourth Thursday of November

Thursday
November 27

View Details

While the turkey’s in the oven, join us for a brief time of praise on Thanksgiving Day. The Thanksgiving Celebration will be specifically focused on giving thanks to God for the many ways he has blessed us in the past year. We’ll be singing songs of thanks, lifting up prayers of thanks and hear a short message. During the offering, everyone will be asked to write down something they’re thankful for, and then we’ll present our cards of thanks to God during the service.

The Eucharist also known as Holy Communion and the Lord’s Supper, among other names, is a Christian rite that is considered a sacrament in most churches, and as an ordinance in others. According to the New Testament, the rite was instituted by Jesus Christ during the Last Supper (Matthew 26:26–28; Mark 14:22–24; Luke 22:17–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–25); giving his disciples bread and wine during a Passover meal, he commanded them to “do this in memory of me” while referring to the bread as “my body” and the cup of wine as “the blood of my covenant, which is poured out for many”.

The elements of the Eucharist, sacramental bread (leavened or unleavened) and sacramental wine (or non-alcoholic grape juice), are consecrated on an altar or a communion table and consumed thereafter. Communicants, those who consume the elements, may speak of “receiving the Eucharist” as well as “celebrating the Eucharist”. Christians generally recognize a special presence of Christ in this rite, though they differ about exactly how, where, and when Christ is present.

As we anticipate the arrival of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, it is Real Life Ministries hope that something would inspire you to seek and understand the reason for the season. God’s single purpose for His creation is to have a relationship with Him and others.  This could only be accomplished through the life, death and resurrection of His son.  The prophet Isaiah clearly communicates the prophecy in Isaiah 9:6  For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting  Father, Prince of Peace.

We at Real Life Ministries wish you a wonderful Christmas, Chanukah and Kwanza. May your days be filled with joy, peace and love.
